Amanda is a graduate of Cumberland Institute, a holistic school of massage therapy.
She is trained in many different massage modalities. Swedish massage therapy is her favorite which combines 7 general strokes that improve circulation, reduce pain, prevent cramping ,spasms, reduce anxiety and tension and improve injury healing. Swedish is the most versatile technique and provides a great foundation for overall health and wellness.
Deep Tissue , similar to Swedish, addresses a deeper level of muscle layer and gets to the more stubborn aches and pains. Deep Tissue massage can also include Neuromuscular therapy which addresses trigger points and is especially useful for chronic pain.
She also offers Pre-Natal Massage , as she is certified in Pre-and Peri Natal massage. This is a nurturing, soothing technique for the mother- to-be or the couple trying to get pregnant. For the mother to be, it soothes stressed muscles, brings blood flow to the baby, and prepares the body for pregnancy and birth. For those dealing with fertility issues, it brings blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, helps with cramping and clotting , and regulates the smooth muscles of the uterus and fallopian tubes. This is a great way to work on fertility, address pregnancy discomfort , prepare for birth, and recover from the birthing experience.
